Brown Winter by DelayedReality Brown Winter by DelayedReality
Yeah, so I haven't actually finished a painting in a long time. But I was looking back (fondly) on some old winter scenes in upstate NY...And this one in particular that was taken behind my house near the stream.

So I changed the point of view in my mind from "standing on the shoreline" to "standing in the stream"

Decided to use brown-tinted colours...Only because I am cheap and ran out of blue, purple and red paints. Hehehe.

Make do with what you have, right?
Hey, I even added some glitter for a nice effect that you can't catch on the computer. Makes the snow sparkle a bit.

Acrylics. Canvas.

I am stunned by the variation you've achieved with only one color. Your pine trees look like the deepest green rather than a shade of brown! The feeling is of dim, late twilight, not monochrome. Amazing work!
